The other day while shopping in Avallon, in a bookstore-cum-stationery store, I found gold and silver spray paint and glitter, which gave me the idea to make crowns for my dolls.
I had first gotten the idea from this tutorial. My version was very quick to make. I cut some lace from my stash to size, stiffened it with a product called "Powertex" which I happened to have at home (I applied it using a chopstick and my fingers), then I draped the lace around the neck of a wine bottle covered with plastic wrap and let it dry. Then I sprayed the lace with the metallic paint, and once dry again closed the crown with white glue. The last step was glueing some glitter on the points. It took about 5 minutes, drying time not included.

Those crows are SUPER adorable.
Suddenly, I think all of those lace scraps I've been saving shall see use. What a great idea you had!

The crowns are fantastic! I love how the different lace designs give the crowns completely different looks. The gold crown looks like it's much older than the silver one. The silver one has a fairytale vibe to it. I may have to try this.

That is incredible! It's so simple but looks like it took a long time to make because they are so delicate and intricate looking! What a great idea!!

Your crowns worked out beautifully.
Your dolls are so lovely. They remind me very much of some of the illustrations in the children's book Saint George and the Dragon by Margaret Hodges. It's a retelling of Edmund Spenser's Faerie Queen.
